Pulse Polio vaccination drive is set for Mysuru district,running June 28 to July 1, targeting kids under five. At meeting Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy urged parents,guardians: make sure every eligible child gets vaccinated.
Vaccinations start June 28 at booths. Then,health workers go door-to-door June 29 to July 1 to ensure no child misses polio drops. Campaign theme: “Every Drop Counts,Every Child Matters.” Special focus on high-risk areas and transit spots.
Officials have ambitious goal: vaccinate 219,521 children for National Immunisation Day 2026. Health Department plans to reach 778,059 households in Mysuru. Deputy Commissioner told municipal officials: appoint nodal officers, create action plans to keep vaccination rates high,especially in urban centers like Mysuru city.
To back campaign logistics,CESC will ensure continuous power to primary health centers June 26 to July 2. Critical for maintaining cold chain for vaccine storage,transportation.
For campaign prep, 1,641 vaccination booths will be set up across district . Plus,51 mobile,transit teams, 328 supervisors,6,772 vaccination personnel will be deployed . Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy,District Health and Family Welfare Officer,stressed extensive preparations underway.
To boost awareness,Deputy Commissioner also called for polio rallies in all schools June 26, 27. Parents of preschoolers, those with kids in LKG,UKG classes: ensure kids get vaccine .
