Fifth edition of Mysuru Travel Mart (MTM) 2026 launched Friday, aiming to boost tourism and investment in Karnataka. Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat opened the three-day event at Jagannatha Centre for Art and Culture in Mysuru, drawing key tourism players,including policymakers and hospitality leaders.
Organized by Mysuru Travels Association with Union Ministry of Tourism,Karnataka Tourism Department,and local organizations,the fair aims to elevate Mysuru as major tourist spot in India . About 1,000 visitors expected,with over 500 hosted buyers nationwide. MTM 2026 becomes vital networking hub for region.
Among attendees were prominent figures like Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and leaders from Mysuru Travels Association. Shekhawat urged Karnataka to adopt national tourism policy,to unlock full potential. He stressed creating investment-friendly climate for hospitality sector.
Panel discussions set for Saturday to cover topics like Mysore Airport development,proposed film city in Mysuru,and sustainable tourism practices. Featuring insights from senior journalists,film industry personalities,and tourism experts.
