NLC India Limited announced June 13, 2026, that Unit-3 of Ghatampur Thermal Power Project hit Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) at midnight. Marks end of 1980 MW facility's buildout,now fully operational.
Ghatampur Thermal Power Station,with three 660 MW units,is a joint venture . NLC India Limited holds 51%, Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) has 49%. In Uttar Pradesh, this means more reliable power, as demand keeps rising.
With Unit-3 online,NLC India's capacity jumped from 7745 MW to 8405 MW . Major boost in expansion efforts. Announced per SEBI rules,2015,signed by Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NLC India Limited, a 'Navratna' enterprise under Government of India.
