Noida International Airport has tapped Nitu Samra,current CFO,as interim CEO after Christoph Schnellmann was denied security clearance. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) refused Swiss national's application,delaying flight operations at the new airport.
The airport said in a statement Samra would step into CEO role immediately,while Board of Directors conducts formal selection process. Schnellmann,who led since August 2020,will become executive vice-chairman on Board.
The CEO must be Indian citizen to serve as security coordinator,complicating Schnellmann's appointment . Highlights regulatory hurdles foreign executives face in India's aviation sector.
