Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi rolled out ambitious infrastructure and welfare plans at press conference June 9,2026 . He credited progress to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12-year leadership,noting railway upgrades and electrification.
Majhi said Odisha's railway budget soared to ₹10,928 crore this year. Projects worth ₹90,000 crore are underway. "State has achieved 100% railway electrification," he said,adding 59 stations are being upgraded under 'Amrit Bharat Station' scheme.
Beyond railways,Chief Minister highlighted port projects. A satellite port's being built in Bahuda,Ganjam district with ₹21,500 crore investment. A major shipbuilding hub costing ₹22,700 crore is planned at Mahanadi River's mouth,with captive jetty at Jatadhara.
Majhi marked 12 years of governance defined by transparency and welfare for underprivileged. He noted Modi is on track to become longest-serving democratically elected leader,clocking 4,399 days in office. "Today reflects years of continuous service," he said.
Despite global hurdles like Ukraine crisis and West Asia instability,Majhi insisted India remains fastest-growing major economy,with growth between 7% and 9%. He pointed out country has moved from 'Fragile Five' to 7.7% growth in 2025-26,despite supply chain issues.
