Telangana Government Pensioners’ Joint Action Committee (TGPJAC) urging state to ensure pensions hit accounts by first of month. This push follows new policy for timely government salaries,according to June 9 circular.
Wednesday, in a formal plea to Chief Secretary K . Ramakrishna Rao, TGPJAC leaders like chairman K. Laxmaiah and secretary-general Tulasi Satyanarayana backed the government's move. But they stressed pensioners need same treatment. About 300,000 pensioners depend on District Treasury Offices (DTOs), Sub-Treasury Offices (STOs),and Assistant Pension Payment Offices (APPOs). Most get payments on first or second day . Yet some districts lag,with funds landing as late as seventh or eighth day.
