Wednesday, in a formal plea to Chief Secretary K . Ramakrishna Rao, TGPJAC leaders like chairman K. Laxmaiah and secretary-general Tulasi Satyanarayana backed the government's move. But they stressed pensioners need same treatment. About 300,000 pensioners depend on District Treasury Offices (DTOs), Sub-Treasury Offices (STOs),and Assistant Pension Payment Offices (APPOs). Most get payments on first or second day . Yet some districts lag,with funds landing as late as seventh or eighth day.

Committee noted pensioners from different groups often face big delays. Some get money at month's end or even every two to three months. This erratic payment system worries many elderly,who need these funds for daily life…
