Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is joining forces with various stakeholders to ease public inconvenience from building Phase II corridor linking Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium and Infopark. Construction's causing temporary trouble for road users at certain spots.
KMRL recently stressed it's working with traffic authorities, local bodies, and other agencies. They're tackling traffic management, road conditions, drainage, and public safety. This comes after heavy criticism over traffic jams on 10.58-km stretch, especially at Palarivattom and Kakkanad.
KMRL's asked for about ₹7 crore to boost and strengthen side roads used for diversions and construction . But no specific funding's been set aside. Still,KMRL's committed to fixing affected areas with help from relevant agencies, aiming for safe passage during construction.
Corridor's set to be done by June 2027,with testing, commissioning, and integration following, aiming for an August 2027 launch. To keep things on track,KMRL has weekly reviews with all stakeholders . During monsoon, they'll meet more often to prevent delays and quickly solve any issues…
