Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced Saturday trust in "made-in-India" defence platforms has soared post-Operation Sindoor. At New Delhi event,he noted India's defence production surged to over ₹1.78 lakh crore. Up from ₹46,000 crore eight to nine years ago.

Operation Sindoor,executed May 2025 after Pahalgam terror attack,showcased domestically made defence systems' effectiveness. Singh said this operation boosted confidence in India's military capabilities . "Trust in made-in-India defence platforms has got enhanced," he said,pointing to its impact.

Besides production, Singh revealed defence exports hit a record ₹38,000 crore. Up from ₹686 crore in 2013-14. He guessed exports might be around ₹40,000 crore now,showing growth of 57 times over past decade.

In his address,Singh reflected on India's progress over 12 years. Shortages to self-reliance to self-confidence. He envisioned a "Viksit Bharat," or developed India,stressing tech advancement with traditional values. "India lays emphasis on both technological development and celebrating its traditions," he said,calling this the nation's strength in 21st century.

Singh also touched on AI advancements and implications for sectors like journalism. He acknowledged AI's influence but warned it can't "feel the pulse" of people. Essential for human sensitivity. While AI boosts journalism's speed and precision,it can't replace human creativity and emotional intelligence.

“The future success of journalism will depend on how well it establishes the balance and synergy between the capabilities of AI and human empathy,” Singh remarked.

He stressed media's critical role in today's "communicative abundance." The challenge isn't information availability but accuracy and reliability . Misinformation,he warned,can impact society and defence forces' morale.

Singh emphasized responsible reporting,especially on national security. "Every word becomes a matter of national responsibility," he stated. Urging media to uphold accuracy,objectivity,impartiality in reporting.
