Moscow,June 4 – The diplomatic path towards a resolution in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine now hinges on a detailed review of draft peace memorandums exchanged by both sides. This period of examination is crucial before any new round of negotiations can be set, according to comments made by Dmitry Peskov, the chief spokesman for the Kremlin,on Wednesday.
Mr. Peskov conveyed to reporters that a certain amount of time would be necessary for a comprehensive assessment of the documents now in circulation. He further clarified that once both delegations signal their preparedness,a definitive date for resuming discussions will be established.
The most recent face-to-face discussions involving Russian and Ukrainian representatives took place in Istanbul on June 2. The session, spanning just over hour, saw participants communicate in Russian as they exchanged documents outlining their respective proposals for conflict resolution.
