In Telangana, students clashed with police during a protest,igniting debate over civil dissent management. Students’ Federation of India (SFI) members showed up at district offices to press on educational issues .
Sangareddy, Mahabubabad,Mulugu, Karimnagar,Khammam — all saw tension rise as police detained student leaders. SFI slammed these actions,calling them an assault on democratic rights. Government,they said,ignoring student problems.
SFI critics blamed ruling Congress for breaking campaign promises. They pointed to lack of school materials like uniforms and delays in Intermediate resources. Scholarships and fee reimbursements backlog,over ₹10,800 crore,adding fuel to fire . New government orders seen as damaging to reimbursement system .
After the police crackdown,SFI demanded immediate release of leaders and a dropping of all charges . Growing unrest among students… commitments unmet,government seemingly indifferent to their plight .
