Switzerland edged out Canada 2-1 in their final FIFA World Cup group stage match June 25 in Vancouver, grabbing top spot in Group B. Goals from Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi came in the 46th and 57th minutes. Canada hit back through Promise David in the 76th minute,but couldn't turn it around.
Switzerland finished with seven points. Canada,with four, also advanced to knockout stage for first time ever. 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 teams. From June 11 to July 19,Canada,Mexico,and U.S. will host across 16 cities.
