Hyderabad Heroes seized HSBC Rugby Premier League (RPL) Season 2 crown,crushing Mumbai Dreamers 41-17 in decisive final at Gachibowli Stadium on Sunday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy presented trophy, attending as chief guest to witness home team’s triumph firsthand.
Champions Hyderabad Heroes bagged ₹45 lakh,while Mumbai Dreamers took ₹25 lakh as runners-up. Bengaluru Bravehearts clinched third place, defeating Chennai Bulls in playoff, earning ₹15 lakh.
This RPL season,organized by GMR Sports with Rugby India, featured six men’s teams battling across 34 matches over 13 days . 84 players hit field,including 54 internationals from 19 countries and 30 Indians. Women's Rugby Premier League also launched, with four teams playing 14 matches . Delhi Redz claimed inaugural title.
