Authorities in Hyderabad seized pharmaceutical excipients worth ₹70.56 lakh after a raid exposed illegal label tampering. Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) conducted operation on June 12, targeting DK Pharmaceuticals in Alwal's Mangapuram Colony .

Inspection revealed 12 cardboard drums with 240 kg of Hydroxypropyl Betadex,a solubilizing agent in drug formulations. Drums labeled with Batch No. RHPB/2026/05/002,showing May 2026 as manufacturing date and April 2029 as expiry. Labels falsely named DK Pharmaceuticals as manufacturer, citing a facility at Plot No. 59/B, EPIP, Pashamylaram,Sangareddy.

But checks showed the mentioned manufacturing site didn't exist. Investigators found DK Pharmaceuticals partners,Mr. Sateesh Babu Dhulapalli and Mr. Nagaswami Katragadda, allegedly swapped original labels for fake ones with details of a non-existent facility. DCA confirmed stock seized during raid.

Samples collected for analysis, with DCA pursuing further investigations. Officials warned those involved face legal consequences. Violations could mean up to five years in prison under Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1940. How deep this goes remains unclear…
