Over 3,000 people converged in north Bengaluru for Bengaluru Lake Run, organized by Krishna Byre Gowda, local MLA and Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development, marking World Environment Day. The run linked Jakkur Lake and Rachenahalli Lake,aiming to spotlight city's lakes, boost environmental conservation, and push for healthier lifestyles through a unique running event.

Participants of all ages joined two race categories: a 5-kilometre run called ‘Majaa’ and a 10-kilometre run dubbed ‘Sakkath Majaa’. Gowda himself ran the longer one, finishing in 56 minutes. He shared on social media that over 1,500 runners participated,with the winner clocking an impressive 39 minutes.
