In effort to combat drug abuse and illegal liquor trade, police in Chittoor district kicked off a major operation Sunday,dubbed “Dhairya Sparsha – Operation Flush Out.” Sweeping cordon-and-search actions struck 28 locations,zeroing in on known offenders and those with past drug-related incidents.

Authorities screened 60 people using advanced drug detection kits. Three tested positive. Two from N.R. Peta,one from Thavanampalle. Police counseled them on health risks of substance abuse.

Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi said operation's main aim was to crush illicit liquor production. Police teams destroyed 1,200 liters of fermented jaggery wash,crucial for country liquor brewing, in Karvetinagaram and Vijayapuram mandals, plus another 300 liters in Panjani. They also seized illegal liquor and ID arrack from various sites across district.

Police registered 15 cases overall,seizing two motorcycles without valid documents in Yadamari area. “We are committed to making Chittoor a drug-free and safer district through sustained enforcement and public cooperation,” Dudi said,emphasizing police dedication to community safety.
