Allegations of severe sexual misconduct have surfaced in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh. A woman working as a domestic helper accuses her boss, Jalaluddin,of years of sexual violence disguised as promise of marriage . Charges have been filed, and the case is under investigation.
The victim started working for Jalaluddin in her teens. She claims the abuse began when she was just 17 . He allegedly promised to marry her at 20. A cruel manipulation of her situation — she was a poor orphan .
Abuse worsened over time. From 2017,Jalaluddin allegedly coerced her into sexual acts. When she tried to expose him, more threats followed. A supposed marriage in August 2021 was, she says, far from consensual . She was led to believe it would give her a share of his assets.
Things got more tangled when she tried to make the marriage official. Jalaluddin reportedly demanded she change her faith . When she refused,he threatened her life. These claims highlight the exploitative nature of their relationship.
Local police have launched inquiry . Rajnish,Circle Officer of Rasra, confirmed charges under several Indian Penal Code sections, including sexual assault and violations of the POCSO and SC/ST Acts. Investigators are recording her statement with local authorities.
This case shines a harsh light on the precariousness faced by domestic workers, especially those from poorer backgrounds. As the probe continues, community grapples with fallout of such misconduct and need for protections .
Jalaluddin is still on the run. Search efforts continue. Raises urgent questions about legal and social reforms to protect domestic workers from exploitation and abuse…
