Foundation Future Industries, a U.S. company tied to former President Donald Trump's family, has tested android robots in Ukraine's combat zone. They sent two Phantom MK-1 robots for this pilot demonstration . It's first time robotic technology has been used in active warfare.
CEO Sankaet Pathak said these robots mainly transport ammunition to the front lines . But the Phantom MK-1 has its downsides. It can only carry 20 kilograms and isn’t waterproof, which could limit its effectiveness in various conditions. Plus, the robots don’t last long in the field, making broader use a challenge.
To tackle these issues, the company is developing an upgraded model, the Phantom 2. This new version aims to boost performance, with a carrying capacity twice that of the Phantom MK-1. Pathak is hopeful about upgrades, calling them "superman" abilities, which could make the robots more useful in combat.
