Tragedy struck in Ghatkesar when 15-month-old Nynika drowned after tumbling into an open water tank outside her home Tuesday . She had been playing in front of her house near Shivareddyguda when disaster happened.
Around 2:45 p.m.,a relative returned from the washroom to find Nynika floating in the tank. Although family was home, how she fell remains a mystery. After the discovery,they rushed her to a government hospital in Ghatkesar. But there was nothing doctors could do. She was pronounced dead on arrival.
Local police have opened an investigation,registering a case under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Her father, Sampangi Mahesh,is a daily wage laborer. This heartbreaking event has left family and community reeling... grappling with the loss.
