Alina Pekova,34,mountaineer from Russia,just became youngest woman to summit all 14 of world's peaks over 8,000 meters. She announced it on her Instagram, saying she's now in Guinness Book of World Records.
Pekova's climbs include some of planet's toughest mountains. She reached Mount Everest at 8,848 meters,K2 at 8,611 meters,Annapurna at 8,091 meters. Her record also lists Lhotse (8,516 meters),Makalu (8,485 meters),Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters). Her climbs span Himalayas and Karakoram. Tough terrain, tougher spirit.
Despite Instagram being banned in Russia due to Meta Corporation's classification as extremist organization, Pekova shared her triumph with followers.
