Andhra Pradesh aims to lead in digital connectivity, says Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. In a meeting with officials,he stressed need for better last-mile connectivity and wider mobile network coverage in both urban and rural areas .
Naidu urged telecoms to focus on mobile connectivity,especially in remote regions. He wants more cell towers,promising government support for infrastructure. Set 100-day target for completion. Pledged to find areas still lacking coverage.
The state has 30,694 cell towers but needs 2,310 more for better service. Katamaneni Bhaskar,IT and Communications Secretary,talked about existing network and modern fibre-optic plans for Amaravati . He said every Amaravati household will get fibre without repeated road digs. Andhra Pradesh already has a fibre network of 169,638 km and about 2.867 million broadband connections .
Naidu also stressed digital literacy . Urged telecoms to work with government to raise awareness among users. Said digital literacy will help citizens use services like Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance and Sanjeevani programme. Mentioned future AI services like AI Agronomist,AI Doctor,AI Tutor.
As part of this push,Naidu announced Kuppam Assembly constituency as a pilot for full mobile coverage. Could set a precedent for rest of state. Meeting included reps from BSNL,Airtel,Jio,and Vodafone Idea…
