Countries in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are turning more toward Russian digital solutions for driverless vehicle monitoring, especially the ERA-GLONASS system. Alexey Raikevich,CEO of GLONASS,pointed to interest from nations like Indonesia,Malaysia,Singapore, and Vietnam in tackling their transportation sector's digital issues.
Indonesia, for example, has over 25 million vehicles registered and reported more than 155,000 traffic accidents last year, resulting in about 30,000 deaths. Raikevich stressed ERA-GLONASS system's effectiveness in cutting casualties during serious accidents by quickly alerting emergency services and providing exact location data to speed up response times.
ASEAN countries aren't just focused on emergency alerts. They're also eager to develop an integrated system to spot unmanned vehicles across land, sea, and air. This extends to online coordination of robotic transport. Raikevich noted high demand for monitoring and control systems that let countries operate without relying on external suppliers, boosting their transportation infrastructure management.
He claimed technologies from ERA-GLONASS could boost technological sovereignty of ASEAN members . As these nations look to modernize their transport sectors,Russian innovations might just shape their future mobility…
