In a shocking incident that shattered peace in two farming villages in Shabad mandal,35-year-old B. Raj Kumar allegedly murdered six people in one night. This unfolded early Saturday, about 60 kilometers from Hyderabad, leaving Daivalaguda and Kummariguda reeling.
Villagers described Raj Kumar as a loner who barely interacted with others . "He barely spoke to anyone," said one. Despite his aloofness, his family life seemed normal — two young sons and a wife, Sarita. A relative noted the kids played outside, and they seemed happy .
Saturday, Raj Kumar acted out of character. Borrowed ₹500,took his sons for haircuts, and bought biriyani lunch. "He seemed cheerful . We thought things were better," a relative said. No one expected the night’s horror .
Raj Kumar lived with his parents on Kummariguda Road for years before moving to Daivalaguda six months ago, near his mother-in-law . That night, neighbors heard Meghana,a differently abled elder sister, crying around 11 p.m . Ignored it . Madhavi, a neighbor, said, "We heard her but thought nothing." Meghana survived, now with relatives.
No sound from Raj Kumar’s house. Ishwar Kumar,a local child, said the air-conditioner and cooler likely muffled any screams . By morning, the grim scene was revealed, police taping off the area.
As word spread, farmers left their tasks, and nearby villagers came on motorcycles and tractors . By mid-morning,crowds gathered behind police lines, staring at the crime scene. "We’ve lived here for decades," said one resident. "Never imagined something this gruesome here."
Relatives of victims claimed they warned authorities about Raj Kumar’s violent potential after his bail in a POCSO case . Allegations of ignored warnings. Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said these claims would be investigated.
Forensic teams collected evidence, preparing bodies for autopsy at Osmania General Hospital. As investigations continue, the community grapples with horror, questioning how such tragedy struck their quiet villages.
