Bihar cabinet gave green light to Bihar State Teacher Transfer, Rules 2026 on Wednesday . Over 5.5 lakh teachers,head teachers,principals across primary to higher secondary schools can now transfer. Decision made in meeting led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Aim: structured,equitable transfer process for educational staff.

Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat Department,said new rules will use portal-based system for transfers. Framework considers health issues,disabilities,family circumstances. Female teachers can transfer from home panchayat to nearby one within same block. Male teachers can move to adjacent blocks,not their home block.

Rules also address staff shortages,reassigning teachers to improve teacher-student ratio.
