Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has ramped up food safety checks, now focusing on school kitchens. Problems found. On Tuesday,June 30, officials hit three private schools in Hyderabad area, after earlier restaurant reviews .
At Glendale International School in Gopanpally, inspectors flagged several issues. Patchy flooring in wash area, stagnant water. Food items mixed with non-food items . And transport vehicle's Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license? Nowhere to be seen. More concerns: uncovered dustbins, bananas near washrooms without pallets.
At The Gaudium School in Kollur,a slippery washing area floor caught attention. Inspectors noticed FSSAI license displayed wasn't for this branch, raising compliance questions. Poor lighting in part of kitchen, unclean air curtains in walk-in chiller. Chopping boards worn out, needed replacing.
These findings show there's need for stricter adherence to food safety rules in schools. CMC wants children to have safe, clean eating spaces . But will these inspections lead to real changes…?
