In Valasaravakkam,Chennai, the Athulya Geriatric Care Hospital opened its doors Sunday, led by Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Tamil Nadu. This new facility targets rising demand for specialized elderly care as India's senior population grows fast.
Arlekar,at ceremony, stressed that effective elder care goes beyond tech. Compassion and human connection are key. He noted society's broader issue — younger generations often neglect seniors. Facilities must provide not just modern equipment, but also respectful, humane treatment.
Karthik Narayan, founder of Athulya Senior Care, highlighted urgent need for specialized geriatric healthcare in India. Narayan said Athulya Hospital aims to close this gap. It's built to meet physical, emotional, and functional needs of older adults. Offers a wide range of services — cardiology, nephrology, rehabilitation medicine. All for comprehensive patient care.
Key figures attended launch, including G. Srinivasan, Krishna Kavya, and Prasanna Natarajan. They're committed to raising standards of care for elderly…
