Satya Kumar Yadav,Minister of Health and Family Welfare,called on citizens Monday to make yoga part of their daily routine. He stressed its importance for discipline,emotional strength, and personal well-being. At Yogandhra-2026 in Dharmavaram, he mentioned how the program leads up to International Yoga Day on June 21,aiming at weavers,traders,business community members.
The Minister highlighted yoga as a strong shield against lifestyle diseases. "Changing lifestyles,rising stress levels,unhealthy habits contribute to multiple diseases," he said. "Regular yoga is more effective than treating illness after it hits."
Yadav advised dedicating 45 minutes to an hour daily for yoga and warm-ups, pointing out benefits for both body and mind. He described yoga as not just a physical exercise but mental balm that encourages positive thinking.
District Collector A. Shyam Prasad agreed,noting yoga's historical ties to nature. Many traditional asanas take cues from animals,natural phenomena. "A short daily yoga session could boost blood circulation,improve oxygen flow, leave you feeling energetic,peaceful," he said.
