Kerala government plans to set up a panel to overhaul outdated land laws,Minister A.P . Anil Kumar announced. Speaking in Assembly Monday,he stressed many of state's land regulations are decades old and need revising. Panel's findings will shape necessary legislative shifts.

In his address,Kumar detailed government's commitment to Land Reforms 2.0,as outlined in Revised Budget. New laws will focus on marginalized communities left behind by earlier reforms . And he aims to standardize fair land values across state.

Digitizing Revenue department remains top priority. Kumar reported resurvey of 10.42 lakh hectares across 72.73 lakh parcels is complete under Rebuild Kerala scheme. Digital resurvey ongoing in 839 of 1,550 villages planned for survey. So far,228 villages finalized,notifications issued under Section 13 of Kerala Survey and Boundaries Act.

In 146 villages,draft notifications published under Section 9(2),while resurvey continues in 221 villages . Initial activities like record collection and digitization are happening in 244 villages. 711 villages yet to start.

To speed up land conversion requests,Kumar said district-level adalats will address at least 25,000 of two lakh pending statewide. Government also looking at surveyor shortages to boost digital survey pace…
