Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued 17 people,including 15 minors,from trains and stations over six days. Operation ran June 25 to June 30 targeting crime across eight northeastern states,northern West Bengal and parts of eastern Bihar.
In 36 operations,RPF found and helped 15 children and two vulnerable adults. Following protocols,they handed them to Child Welfare Committees,Childline,One-Stop Centres,NGOs,or their guardians. Shows commitment to protecting vulnerable travelers.
RPF also made big seizures . They confiscated 83.984 kg of ganja,343 bottles and a can of illicit liquor,seven mobile phones,two illegal railway tickets,and cash over ₹35,000 . Total estimated value of seizures topped ₹43.92 lakh.
Seventeen offenders caught,with charges from narcotics trafficking to ticket touting and theft. Kapinjal Kishore Sharma,NFR chief spokesperson,said actions were under Railway Act and other laws. And a coordinated anti-encroachment drive at Safrai Railway Station in eastern Assam cleared 61 unauthorized structures from 5,600 square meters of railway land.
