On June 18,2026,during his Paris visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with top French executives to seek investments in India . Talks covered sectors like shipping,logistics, railways, construction, and AI, as per External Affairs Ministry.
Rodolphe Saade, chairman and CEO of CMA CGM, was among key figures. Their chat focused on maritime shipping and logistics,with Saade seeing room for France-India collaboration. “We had global discussions on development that we could eventually implement in India,” he said, touching on shipbuilding and deep-sea ports. Saade optimistic about India’s supply chain role: “The future of India is happening now.”
Modi noted CMA CGM's growing presence in India,with ongoing investments and efforts for skill development in logistics. Ministry’s post on X highlighted company's commitment to boosting Indian operations.
Besides Saade, Modi met Benoit Bazin,Saint-Gobain's CEO. They talked materials and construction,especially sustainability. Modi praised Saint-Gobain for investments in India, saying they create jobs for youth .
Bazin outlined plans for more investments in India,showing firm’s growth commitment. Modi also spoke with Alstom's CEO on mobility and railway updates. He acknowledged Alstom’s big investments and manufacturing that boost jobs.
Modi also met Arthur Mensch, co-founder of Mistral AI. They discussed India's AI scene, with Mensch eager to work with Indian firms on AI innovation.
These Paris talks came after Modi’s G7 Summit visit, where he met leaders like U.S. President Donald Trump. Meetings with CEOs show India's drive to boost economic ties with France and role in global supply chains.
