In bid to boost farmers' income in Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar announced village-level crop planning committees. This plan was revealed Thursday during a review meeting on sustainable agriculture at the Collectorate.
Chandra Sekhar said boosting farmers' earnings must be top priority . He laid out plans for demonstrations of farm mechanization and drone pilot training across each mandal. The meeting,with officials from Agriculture Department and scientists from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, focused on crop diversification and modern techniques .
Minister urged officials to carry out both Central and State government schemes effectively. He stressed using technology to raise farm productivity and better rural livelihoods. Coordinated efforts needed for sustainable practices that conserve resources,build resilient systems.
Committees will include progressive farmers,scientists,and officials from agriculture and horticulture. They'll develop scientific crop plans suited to local conditions. Chandra Sekhar also pressed for pest-resistant seed varieties and suggested farmers consider a third crop where possible .
