Malur police nabbed 25-year-old man Wednesday linked to theft at Satyasandha Teertha Mutt in Mahishi village,Tirthahalli taluk. Suspect Raghavendra Acharya accused of swiping valuables worth over ₹1 crore. Recovered within hours.

The theft happened after special pooja at mutt Tuesday,attended by Raghuvijaya Teertha Swami of Kudali Arya Akshobhyateertha Mutt and disciples. Precious items,16 gold halagarathis weighing 780 grams, brought from Kudali Mutt for ceremony. But after pooja,items vanished.

Acharya,also a disciple,allegedly took items during lunch break when seer and others stepped out. Police complaint named four potential suspects from ceremony.

Superintendent of Police B. Nikhil hailed swift action: “I was informed of incident,our team cordoned area immediately,narrowed suspects,recovered items intact. Officers showed exemplary efficiency.”

Investigation led by Deputy Superintendent Aravind Kulagandi with Malur Police Inspector Rajashekhar,Inspector Iram Baig,and PSI Sunil Kumar.
