Police in Gavi arrested a man Thursday over alleged rape,murder of a 32-year-old Anganwadi worker. Suspect, Vinod Kumar, was picked up near Vallakkadavu check-post in Kumily after tips from locals and Forest department.
Kumar,during initial questioning,admitted to killing woman in a fight but denied sexual assault. Claimed he knew her for long time,said no one else involved. Authorities are digging deeper,with evidence collection ongoing for days.
