Starting June 8,University of Calicut's main campus in Tenhipalam,Malappuram district,will boost security with 72 new CCTV cameras. A big step for safety.
These cameras will feed into security office for real-time monitoring . At recent meeting, Vice-Chancellor P . Raveendran emphasized need for stronger security,especially in hostels. So,the university plans to streamline hostel admissions.
Police patrols have also started on campus. Vice-Chancellor asked District Police Chief for this . And a surrounding wall is in the works,with tenders wrapped up. Construction will happen in phases over next three months.
