Suryansh Shedge will step in for injured Nitish Reddy in India’s squads for upcoming T20Is against Ireland and England,BCCI said Tuesday. Reddy's out due to quadriceps injury from recent series against Afghanistan.
After feeling pain in left quadriceps post-third ODI on June 20,Reddy had medical check. BCCI's medical team advised rehab,keeping him from UK white-ball tour.
Shedge, a rising 23-year-old all-rounder, got the nod after strong showing in Sri Lanka's tri-series,playing for India A . He impressed,scoring 147 runs in five matches and bowled 23 overs.
His form stayed hot during 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,shining for Mumbai. Scored 131 runs at striking rate of 251.92,mainly in lower middle order. Shedge's showing makes him logical choice to replace Reddy as India braces for tough series…
