Three people arrested over brutal murders of M. Venkata Lakshmi and her mother,G. Anthoboyila. Bodies found May 29 in cashew orchard between Eluru and West Godavari. Suspects include Ponamala Sirisha,a relative,along with Karri Prasad aka Basu,and Aasu Durga,said K. Pratap Shiva Kishore, Eluru district's Superintendent of Police.
Investigators say Sirisha had grudges against Venkata Lakshmi and Anthoboyila due to rumors about her. She allegedly planned the murders, getting help from Prasad,her lover,and Durga,a friend. They reportedly lured victims to a birthday party at orchard,offering them poisoned liquor.
Once incapacitated,suspects allegedly used boulders to kill them. D. Sravan Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Eluru, confirmed details in media briefing.
