S. Palani,50,a dairy farmer, and his wife, P. Parasakthi, 48,had left their house on May 31. They traveled to Kancheepuram to attend family function at a relative's home. The couple found gold earrings scattered on the floor upon their return.

Further inspection revealed cupboard had been ransacked, and the couple confirmed their valuables were missing . They also observed that a door on staircase had been forcibly broken. Police from Avalur were alerted and visited the house with forensic experts.

Investigators collected fingerprints from the property as part of their inquiry. Authorities are also examining CCTV camera footage gathered from along the route culprits may have used. Superintendent of Police (SP) P . Sibin has since formed special teams to apprehend those responsible for the robbery. A case has been registered,and a police probe is underway.
