Indonesia and Turkiye aim to boost their annual trade to $10 billion. A big focus during talks Wednesday in Jakarta .
Jakarta saw Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto meet with Turkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. They discussed expanding cooperation in several sectors.
Minister Fidan called talks a major success,especially for pushing a broad agenda. He emphasized boosting collaboration in many areas.
Focus areas? Security,energy,logistics, and halal food. The $10 billion trade target got a close look during their meeting.
That ambitious goal set last April. Leaders then vowed to strengthen ties and find "new breakthroughs" together.
Also,President Subianto thanked Ankara for helping return nine Indonesians detained by Israeli forces . They were part of humanitarian mission to Gaza.
Officials also shared views on Middle East issues, including Iran and Palestine. Indonesia's presidency said both countries see eye to eye diplomatically.
As fellow countries in the Global South,Indonesia and Turkiye share the view that regional stability should be maintained through dialogue,diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
