The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) nabbed Shankar Pansari,aka Shankar Rajput, over cyber fraud tied to digital arrests. Pansari, from Karnal,Haryana, was caught in Rajkot, Gujarat. This follows an ongoing probe after Supreme Court's orders .
Case started with Cyber Crime unit in Bhopal,Madhya Pradesh. Pansari allegedly forced senior citizen to move ₹25.65 lakh into two bank accounts. Threats of digital arrest came through calls from people posing as security and counter-terrorism officials.
Fraudsters claimed victim's bank account was linked to terrorism, creating fear of arrest and asset seizure. They even sent a fake attachment order to make threats more convincing. Victim's troubles deepened.
CBI's crackdown shows a wider push to fight cybercrime,protecting vulnerable folks from these scams. As probes go on,authorities urge public to stay alert to such frauds…
