Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda will kick off new infrastructure project today. They'll lead ceremony for a three-lane twin tunnel linking Hebbal Junction to Karnataka Veterinary, Animal, and Fisheries University (KVAFSU).
This tunnel stretches 2.27 kilometers, paired with an elevated corridor reaching from KVAFSU to Mehkri Circle. Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is in charge. They've awarded contract to a firm already doing soil tests.
Bengaluru Traffic Police pushed for this project to ease congestion in Ganganagar,Sanjay Nagar, and R.T. Nagar. Public wasn't thrilled at first, but government insists these short tunnels will help clear up traffic snarls.
Back in December 2025,Karnataka Cabinet gave green light . Tender process hit snags — no bids first round, had to call again for contractors. Will this solve Bengaluru's traffic mess? Time will tell…
