The Argentinian national football team has emerged as the frontrunner to clinch 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to the latest predictions from Opta supercomputer . With the group stage nearing completion, Argentina's chances of victory are estimated at 15.46%. This marks a shift from earlier forecasts, which had favored Spain, known as ‘La Roja’,as the likely champion.
Following Argentina, France is a close second with a 15.06% probability of winning,while Spain trails in third place at 12.48%. The rankings continue with England at 9.48%, Portugal at 6.71%, and Germany at 6.60%. Other notable contenders include Norway (5.42%), Brazil (4.56%),the Netherlands (4.26%), and United States (4.07%).
The upcoming tournament,co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This World Cup will be historic,featuring an expanded format with 48 teams competing,up from the previous 32-team structure. Matches will be held across 16 cities in the three host nations, promising a diverse and exciting showcase of global football talent.
