Telangana's Prohibition and Excise Department has nabbed 651 people in a massive sweep against illegal liquor and drugs. From June 12 to June 21,841 cases were registered statewide .

Led by Director of Enforcement Avinash Mohanty,the operation aimed to break networks involved with illegal liquor,especially Gudumba,and various narcotics . It also targeted non-duty paid liquor.

Special Task Force teams,Enforcement,and District Task Force worked with local excise officers for coordinated raids across Telangana. During this time,119 vehicles were seized in connection with these illegal activities.

Authorities confiscated 3,191 liters of illicitly distilled liquor from ten Excise Deputy Commissioner areas. They also destroyed 64,435 liters of jaggery wash and seized 8,377 kilograms of jaggery.

Warangal was hot spot,with 260 cases filed and 206 arrests. 1,400 liters of illegal liquor seized here. Karimnagar followed with 108 cases,76 arrests,and 310 liters confiscated.

Nalgonda reported 86 cases,58 arrests,260 liters seized. Meanwhile,Adilabad had 80 cases,76 arrests,298 liters confiscated . Non-duty paid liquor haul reached 362.72 liters,with Ranga Reddy logging biggest catch at 206.56 liters .

In Hyderabad,66 liters of non-duty paid liquor seized,while Medak reported 49.32 liters. Beyond liquor,drugs found too — 114.32 kilograms of marijuana,41 grams of MDMA,310 grams of cocaine,6.3 grams of heroin. What else might be lurking out there…
