Major drug bust early Monday: Mysuru City Police seized roughly 280 kg of ganja,worth about ₹1.40 crore. The bust went down on Mysuru-Malavalli highway,where City Crime Branch (CCB) stopped a truck suspected of moving drugs to Kerala and other Karnataka districts.
Police Commissioner Seema Latkar shared details at press briefing,confirming four arrests. The suspects: Mohammed Zubair, Mudasir Ahmed,Abubakar Siddiq, and Syed Mazhar. A week-long probe based on intel tips led to the truck's capture near Hasiru Goodu Nursery Gate in Green County Layout.
Cops also grabbed escort vehicle tied to the operation. Latkar stressed ongoing efforts to tackle city's drug problems,going after both dealers and users of ganja and synthetics. Last three months,city police filed 12 cases under NDPS Act,arresting 28 people.
In that time,they seized 43 kg of ganja,164 grams of synthetic drugs. They logged 36 drug use cases,showing scale of Mysuru's drug issues. Deputy Commissioners Sundar Raj and Harsha Priyamvada spoke too,affirming local law enforcement's focus on this fight. But will it be enough...?
